Ford film crew goes behind the scenes

Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team driver Jari-Matti Latvala spends many of his days in the full glare of publicity. Whether it is a TV camera and microphone, a photographer's lens or a journalist's recording machine, there is little opportunity for the Ford Fiesta RS World Rally Car pilot to avoid the questions, snaps and soundbites for the world's media during his life as a professional rally driver.

But what about when the engines are turned off and the FIA World Rally Championship service park goes quiet and packs up for the weekend?

Ford sent a film crew to Finland to take a look behind the scenes at the family home where he grew up, to learn what he gets up to in his spare time and to reflect on the early days of his driving career.

The film has now been uploaded to Ford's WRC channel on You Tube. Viewers can watch sparkling clips of the 26-year-old behind the wheel of the family's two-litre Ford Escort Mk2 BDA rally car, view his glistening trophy collection and hear him talking about his rallying hero, the late Henri Toivonen.

The 4min 50sec film can be viewed at www.youtube.com/fordwrc.
