Monte Carlo Historique 2014 - Latest news

After driving more than 1,000 kilometers across Europe, competitors will now have competed on the very first regularity test, the well-known 'La cime du Mas - Col de l'Echarasson - Col de Gaudissart, before rejoining Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans and then Valence, host city for the end of the opening Concentration Leg of the demanding rally.

Latest news feed from sources following the rally route is that the newly build Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF of Steve Graham, co-driven by brother and IRDC secretary Tony Graham, seems to have encountered transmission maladies between 4am and 9am this morning at Champagnole.

Steve's faithful service crew were quickly on to the problem to remedy the faults and we now hope that Steve & Tony were safely en route again. The Lancia is one of nine cars entered on this years event under the International Rally Drivers Club banner.

On Sunday, January 26th the Classification Leg of the rally will take place with some classic stages such as Le Moulinon - Antraigues and Burzet - Saint-Martial. Then after a quick stop in Saint-Agrève, competitors will have to contest two legendary stages of the Monte Carlo Rally, Lalouvesc - Labatie d'Andaure and Lamastre - Gilhoc - Alboussière, before returning to Valence via Plats and Tournon-sur-Rhône for a well-deserved night's rest.
