Renault Alpine Wins Monte Historique

After a week of hard motoring, a Renault Alpine A110 1.6S driven by Danielle Perfetti and co-driver by Robbie Kessel has been declared the winner of the 2016 Rally Monte Carlo Historique. The Anglo Swiss entry had been lurking around the top twenty for the past 3 days and came good after the final overnight loop of the daunting mountain circuit, which included the notorious Col De Turini stage; an historical heartbreaker for many aspiring winners on almost every Monte!

Best placed IRDC crew was the Rick Pearson/Stuart Pringle Lancia Fulvia 1.3S in 66th position followed by Bill Richards/Graham Carter's Cooper S in 83rd place and Jeff Orford/Peter Moss in 96th place overall in their Datsun 240Z.

Perhaps the 2016 Rally Monte Carlo Historique will be best remembered for the absence of snow, the very ingredient that has characterised this event since its inception as the world's best know rally!
