British Rally Championship - Mid Wales Stages

The opening round of the revitalised 2016 MSA British Rally Championship takes place on Saturday 5th with the Mid Wales Stages based in Newtown.  Using the stages that form an integral part of Wales Rally GB, Britain's round of the World Rally Championship, this rally is sure to prove a real test to the start of everyone's BRC campaign.

Overall, the rally does not seem to be particularly arduous. but it starts on Saturday night with two demading stages run in darkness. giving competitors little opportunity to settle gently into the new rallying season! The balance of the 6 stage 71 stage mile rally takes place on Sunday.

After a one year sabbatical the British Rally Championship has attracted a glittering field of top-class national drivers as well as one or two proven international performers. World Rally Championship refugee Elfyn Evans has turned a few heads by returning to the BRC and leads the entry, paired this year with Craig Parry in his familiar R5 Ford Fiesta. Keith Cronin runs at number two with Mikie Galvin in a Citroen DS3 and David Bogie/Kevin Rae at 3 in a Skoda Fabia. Local man Tom Cave runs at four with James Morgan in the Spencer Sport run Ford Fiesta R5.
