Driver Improvement Scheme - MSA BRC

At this point in its calendar the MSA British Rally Championship takes a well-earned eleven-week break before mid-August's Todd's Leap International rally, a tough 125 stage mile asphalt event based in scenic Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Both the International and Challenge class results feature some new names following the Jim Clark International rally over Jubilee bank holiday weekend, entering the running for the IRDC's prestigious end-of-season driver performance improvement award.

In the premier International class, Nick Allen showed the most improved performance on the demanding Jim Clark International asphalt rally. Allen, a welcome addition to this year's BRC from the USA entered the sport in 2010 after cutting his teeth in the uncompromising environment of North American endurance rallying. Nick has moved to the UK for 2012 and drives a Chris Birkbeck Twingo R2 with British co-driver Andy Bull.

In second place we now have 18 year old media student Chris Ingram from Stockport in Cheshire, also driving a Renault Twingo R2 and third place is taken by Mr Consistency; Tom Cave, who has featured near the top of the IRDC scheme's previous 3 sets of results this season.

In the Scheme's closely fought Challenge class on the Jim Clark Rally, Gareth White drove his Citroen R2 into first position with Richard Archer in second and Simon Moore third.

The IRDC Driver Improvement scheme is based on the performance improvement as compared between events and stage times and not overall finish results.
