2013 Wales Rally GB Route is released

The organisers have today released the itinerary for this year's Rally GB, with Chirk Castle and Kinmel Park confirmed as stately home stages.

Based on Deeside, the event runs through the forests of north and mid-Wales. The prelude for the event will take place at Llandegla, 25 miles away from Deeside, while a second run through Clocaenog provides Sunday's powerstage on the November 14-17 rally. Conwy Castle provides the start as precursor to three night time stages.

Friday is the Hafren, Sweet Lamb, Myherin loop, serviced remotely from Newtown. Saturday provides Dyfi and Gartheiniog run twice and Dyfnant once - but without service! The section back to Deeside then includes two laps of the Chirk Castle stage, with cars arriving back in service at the end of the leg at 15:36, one of the earliest arrival times on the Saturday leg of a WRC for years.

Sunday provides a second run at Dyfnant, Penllyn and Clocaenog, before Kinmel Park twice and the Great Orme. The finish will be at 1330 in Llandudno.
