Rally Stars at Goodwood Revival 2013

Over the past fifteen years the Goodwood Revival meeting has carved out its place on the global historic motor racing calendar as a authentic step back in time, a unique chance to relive the glamour and allure of motor racing in the romantic time capsule of the world's most charismatic motor racing venue - Goodwood.

It's the place for all motor sports enthusiasts to be this weekend, rubbing shoulders with former Formula One stars, endurance racing champions, tin top tearaways. top bikers and rally drivers. The IRDC is delighted to report the club is well represented among these stars.

The two driver St Mary's Trophy race for saloon cars 1960-66 seems to be the race that's attracted the rally drivers. 1967 Monte Carlo Rally winner Rauno Aaltonen will feel at home driving a Mini Cooper S and IRDC honorary member and versatile all-rounder Barrie 'Whizzo' Williams will share Arne Berg's Lotus Cortina. Other well-known faces in this race include Prodrive's Dave Richards, also driving a Lotus Cortina and 60's BMC works rally and racing driver Alec Poole, 1969 BTCC champion, will be seen peddling an unfamiliar Isuzu Bellett. Current international rally competitor and former TV F1 pundit Tony Jardine, drives a Ford Anglia 105E also in the crowd-pleasing two-part St Mary's Trophy.

Practice starts on 09:00 am Friday with racing Saturday and Sunday. It's a ticket only meeting and currently a sell-out but there's no harm in trying, if you forgot to book your tickets:-
