Silverstone Classic 2014 'Rocking & Racing'
Amazingly, this year's Silverstone Classic 25-27 July, has amassed a race entry of over 1,000 cars that will be competing in a miscellany of Saloon, Sports Car, Single-Seater Racing Cars, GT, Touring Cars and Group C Endurance races. In addition, the annual event comes complete with an off-track entertainment package that includes live rock music, 9,000 display vehicles, aerobatic aircraft, an auction of classics, wine and watches, plus the world?s biggest parade of classic Grand Prix cars, all contributing to make the 2014 three-day Silverstone Classic the best yet.
Friday is qualifying, running from 09:00 through to 19:30, while Saturday's races finish at 21:00 following the Group C Race, and Sunday's racing ends at 18:00 and is only interrupted by the Mustang Celebration Parade, the Record Breaking Grand Prix Parade and the Maserati Centenary Parade. Alas, no dedicated rally stage this year but there will be some mouthwatering rally cars displayed on some of the individual marque car club stands within the infield area of the circuit.
On the 'Rocking & Racing' themed stage, live music will include evening performances by iconic 60's group Canned Heat on Friday and Welsh sweetheart Bonnie Tyler on Saturday.
One of Silverstone Classic's event partners, BMW, will be offering free bike hire plus a family picnic spot where live footage of the track racing will be relayed. BMW are also providing courtesy cars for VIPs competitors, celebrities and media. Everyone else though will have to wait for a bus, or walk!
