2016 WRC Calendar Announced

The much-awaited 2016 World Rally Championship calendar has now been announced with the 14-round series starting in Monte Carlo mid-January and finishing in Australia in November. The Rally GB remains the final European round of the series in late October. Both Monte Carlo and France are on the calendar subject to finalising agreements with WRC Promoter and the FIA before November 30.
The WRC returns to China in the second week of September, for the first time since 1999 and will be one of the WRC Promoter's biggest challenges yet, but they are confident in a new multi-year partnership formed in the Far East with Letv Sports to promote the event alongside the Federation of Automobile Sports of China. Letv is one of the world's largest acquirers of sports rights and WRC joins a portfolio which also includes Formula 1 and the English Premier League.
China represents the biggest car market globally and taking the WRC back there offers manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their products via a championship focused on production-based vehicles.
