Ogiers still leads Rally Sweden after day 2

Sebastien Ogier leads Hayden Paddon into the final day of Rally Sweden after the world champion rebuilt his lead on the afternoon stages and extended his advantage slightly with a confident run through the Karlstad superspecial that concluded Saturday's leg.

Ogier beat his Volkswagen team-mate Andreas Mikkelsen in their head-to-head on the stage as he recorded the 12th-fastest time, knowing he needs only to protect his 17.1s margin to secure a third Rally Sweden win. Jari-Matti Latvala was fastest on the stage - his third stage win of the day - by 2.6s from Teemu Suninen in his WRC2-spec Skoda Fabia R5. Craig Breen was slower than Henning Solberg on their run on the superspecial and will start the final day of his first rally with Citroen 3.6s behind the Norwegian in their battle for seventh.

Elfyn Evans carries a 17.9s lead over Pontus Tidemand in the WRC2 category into the final stage as he bids for a second win from as many starts after his class victory in Monte Carlo. The final leg of the rally has been cut from the scheduled four stages to just a single run through the powerstage due to the poor road conditions following recent mild weather.
